Our Story
New Tide Support Services was founded from lived experience — not just of disability, but of how profoundly life can change in an instant.
Our journey began after a life-altering lawn mower accident that resulted in a below-knee amputation. Overnight, the shape of our lives changed. We were suddenly navigating trauma, recovery, grief, resilience, and an entirely new reality — both physically and emotionally. Alongside learning how to live with disability came the complex, often overwhelming experience of navigating the NDIS.
This journey was not faced alone. My wife has walked every step beside me, gaining a deep and personal understanding of what it means to be an informal support — advocating, coordinating, caring, and watching a loved one battle not only physical recovery, but the mental and emotional toll that comes with it. Together, we experienced firsthand the frustration, exhaustion, and isolation that many individuals and families feel when engaging with the NDIS system.
It was through this experience that New Tide Support Services was born.
We saw the gap between what the NDIS promises and what many people actually experience. We understood how vital it is to have supports who genuinely get it — who understand the system, the pressure it places on families, and the importance of being seen as a whole person, not a plan number.
Our motivation is simple: to be the support we wished we had.
With multiple years of experience working within the disability and NDIS sector, we combine professional knowledge with real-world understanding. We support participants and families to navigate the NDIS with clarity, dignity, and confidence, helping them make the most of their funding while building supports that truly fit their lives.
At New Tide Support Services, we don’t just provide services — we become part of your support system. We listen, we advocate, and we walk alongside you through every stage of your NDIS journey. Our lived experience shapes everything we do, and it is what sets us apart.
Because when you’ve lived it, you support differently.
